HYPERCO INTRODUCES OPTIMUM BODY DIAMETER SPRINGS

Logansport, IN- Hyperco, a division of MW Industries and long time supplier of suspension components to all levels of motor racing , has announced its latest breakthrough design in coil over suspension springs, the Optimum Body Diameter (OBD) Spring Program.
 
OBD Springs feature a design concept that adjusts the body diameter of the spring relative to the end coils. This new design enables Hyperco to take full advantage of the high tensile material used in manufacturing, by optimizing the applied stress through adjusting the spring’s body diameter.
 
The OBD design, coupled with Hyperco’s manufacturing expertise, results in a product with additional deflection, improved rate linearity, more resistance to bowing, additional shock to spring clearance and physical weight reduction. All of this has been achieved without compromising Hyperco’s legendary durability and consistency. OBD Springs can be used in conjunction with Hyperco’s traditional “constant I.D.” spring designs.
 
Hyperco has planned a phased transition to this design, and over time, 100% of the line will be produced in the OBD configuration. Users will notice that OBD spring bodies are slightly larger than the end coils, and their packaging will include a blue dot next to the part number for ease of identification.
